You can start affiliate marketing with the flexibility to match your current situation in life and proceed to your desired level of success on your own timeline.

The steps to success as an affiliate marketer are within the reach of anyone regardless of your prior experience. The steps you need to build your search marketing business are already online for you to take advantage of them. All you need is a computer connected online, time to learn and a little startup money to advertise. I will outline the 8 steps of the process to become successful in affiliate marketing.

Step 1. Believe to Succeed
To be successful, every endeavor must be based on your belief that you can succeed. It is common nature to be skeptical of new money making opportunities. Let's be honest and admit that many business opportunities over promise with statements that stretch the truth. All I am asking is that you have a positive attitude that you can be successful and will give the necessary effort to make money in affiliate marketing.

Affiliate advertising can best be understood as three basic components: affiliates, affiliate programs and affiliate networks. You will be the affiliate as you will advertise other people's products and services for a commission. Affiliate programs are created by other businesses to recruit affiliates, like you, to sell their products and services. Finally, affiliate networks are third parties that facilitate the relationship between affiliate programs and affiliates.

Step 3. Learn How to Advertise Affiliate Products
The easiest way to drive traffic to affiliate programs that you promote is search marketing. You can use search marketing on sites such as Google, Yahoo and MSN to identify persons searching for products and services that you promote. To be successful, the affiliate marketer must have a strong knowledge of search marketing and how to generate leads for the products you promote.
